Located midway between Tamarindo and Langosta, Casa de las Olas is tucked away from the bustle of town in a quiet, premier location that’s just 100 yards from the safest swimming beach in the area, and a short two-minute walk from one of the finest restaurants in Tamarindo. “Town” is a beautiful ten-minute walk down the beach.

Casa de las Olas (House of the Waves) is the personal and secondary residence of your host, Rik Grencik. Being one of the few private residences that are available to the public, Casa de las Olas provides you with a unique opportunity to enjoy your vacation by staying in what truly feels like your own personal home. Your hosts recognize that when you are looking for a vacation rental, you have many choices. In sharing their home with you, their goal is to provide you with a memorable tropical experience, at a cost that’s less than many of the high priced hotel rooms.
If you would prefer a private setting over a busy hotel lobby or having a multitude of neighbors, you can begin to understand why this home has become one of the most sought after properties in the Tamarindo area. Whether it’s surfing, fishing, diving, exploring, reading, or just plain old relaxing, let Casa de las Olas be your tropical oasis.

Casa de las Olas is a two-bedroom, two-bath residence with a large terrace that fronts the entire home. Although not directly on the beach, the warm Pacific waters will touch your toes in less than a two-minute walk. The hammocks on the front terrace are a favorite of guests – If you listen carefully, like a seashell the hammocks are calling you and awaiting your arrival.

Casa de las Olas has an inviting interior with a small “casita” type feel that adds to your feeling of being “home.”

The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, blender, CD stereo / radio (don’t forget to bring your favorite CD’s) toaster, coffee maker, plates, bowls, silverware, etc. And, although Tamarindo has a number of exceptional restaurants, Casa de las Olas awaits your talents in the kitchen should you choose to add homemade aromas to your tropical home.

The spacious bedrooms each have a luxuriously comfortable, queen-size mattress that awaits your body for those restful naps and a good night’s sleep.

There are two spacious bathrooms that allow our guests to choose between a sunken shower or a large tub to cool oneself from the heat of the tropical sun. Additionally, the outside shower greets the beachcombers at the entrance to the property and invites them to rinse the salt and sand in a natural, serene environment – this experience is also a favorite of guests.

The back yard allows for an additional private area to enjoy and/or to entertain. The central fountain, the Bar-B-Q, and the two hammocks in the palm-roofed “Rancho” are favorites as well.

If you've ever thought about learning to surf, Casa de las Olas saves you money by providing not one, but two, "soft-top" surfboards for your use (if you wanted to rent a surfboard from one of the surf shops, it would cost you $30 to $40 per day).

By providing such simple pleasures as the soft-top surfboards, boogie boards, surfboard racks, TV/DVD (remember to bring your favorite DVD’s), maid service every other day, and other amenities, it allows you to feel as if this is your home away from home. Casa de las Olas awaits your arrival and will provide for you the wonderful experience of having your own home within a tropical setting – We look forward to your arrival.

The daily rate at Casa de las Olas is based on a 4-person occupancy. All taxes are included. Please add $10 (U.S.) per night for each additional person (maximum 6 persons).

RESERVATION POLICY:
Reservations can be made by phone, fax, or e-mail to Rik Grencik at the information provided above. Within 7 days of the requested reservation, 25% of the total amount due is to be sent in the form of a cashier’s check, made out to R. C. Grencik, and mailed to the address above. Upon receipt of the check, a confirmation packet will be sent to the client. Since the requested dates will be blocked, and then confirmed, on the client’s behalf the 25% deposit is non-refundable. The remaining 75% of the payment due is to be paid at the time of check-in. Additionally, a $200 security deposit is required at check-in. This security deposit will be refunded at checkout, providing there are no missing and/or damaged items.
